Well for everyone to overcome this economic downturn we need people to start spending. So I’ve become part of the solution. I’ve dropped some bucks on one of the hottest electronic games going. One of those great non-North america tech success stories, the Nintendo Wii gaming system.

The thing about the Wii system is that that its very different from what you might suspect in a gaming system. With most of the Wii games there is not sitting down. Using the Wiimote and the unique Wii nunchuk you can really get into the game.

The system is great because your kids might actually get off the couch and get active. The standard games like Wii golf and Wii bowling really make you get into the game and start moving around. With the Wii boxing game if you add some Wii boxing gloves you get that real ring experience since you’re duking it out. Add some boxing shorts and shoes and you’re ready for teh ring. One thing to remember based on my experience is that you can get really caught up in the action. Its a good idea to buy a Wii charger for your remote controller. Its no fun running out of juice during your Wii session.

Besides all the talk of hope and change the biggest thing that came out of the election has to be early voting. Axelrod again showed that he knows the game better tahn anyone by going after those states with early voting and making sure they locked up the votes earrly. Florida was not close because of that strategy. No matter now many dirrty tricks that the Reps planted in Florida (one voting machine in heavy Democratic polling stations) Obama was able to overcome this because of all the votes they had banked.

What is fast enough for the average at home web surfer? You can see ads that promise 5mb of transfer. That my folks would be lighting fast and you would be able to download almost anything so fast it would knock your wen socks off.

The reality is that you will likely never receive that level of service. All that talk about super fast service is just in theory. What is even worse are people who work in offices that have super fast T1 connections but at home they only have DSL over phone lines.

Using any free internet speed check review service you will find that your connection speed could be as low as 500k and if you are lucky you could be hitting the 1.5mb speed level. But do you notice something in those numbers. There is a HUGE difference in that performance level. But your internet provider will not be telling you about it wehn you call and ask about their service.

With phone connections it depends on your location in the community. Some one who is one block over could be getting almost 2mb when they use an internet speed check service to check their connection speed. But because you are located farther away from the phone company service your service could only be 500k but your bill would be the same. So you are receiving about one third of your neighbours service but your bill is 100 per cent the same.
